Originally published in 1611, the King James Bible is the best Bible available to English speakers. The last major, accepted update to the spellings of the text was in 1769. It has stood the test of time and there is a reason for that.
We believe that the King James Bible is the purely preserved words of God in the English language. Before pushing this belief away as some crazy conspiracy theory, please read my personal testimony:
When I became a Christian, I followed the advice of modern Bible "scholars" and avoided the KJV, reading multiple versions to "make it easier" to understand. Instead, I was left bored and confused. Later, I tried reading a chapter in a modern translation before reading it in the KJV to see if it would help me grasp the text of the King James. It did not take me long to realize that there was a great difference between the two. What I had been taught about the modern translations, particularly that they did not contain any major changes, was a lie.
I also found that the KJV has a poetical quality that the modern versions lack. Compare a Psalm in the King James to a modern English translation and the superior eloquence and beauty of the English in the KJV is evident.
Unfortunately, corrupt modern translations are now more commonly used in America. The reason usually given for this is that the KJV is "too hard" to read. There were attempts to modernize the text of the King James after 1900, but these often changed the words, not just the formatting or spelling.
What most Christians in America are reading now is not the Word of God, but a perverted version of the Bible, based on corrupted manuscripts. Academics and seminaries have been pushing these texts based on man-made rules of Textual Criticism and they have been viciously attacking the KJV in recent decades.
Although we have access to more information than ever before, Christians are left disoriented and disappointed with the contemporary church because of the misleading arguments of New Testament "scholars." Preaching has been weakened, Christians are erring in doctrine and practice, and churches are dying. These corrupted Bibles are not glorifying Jesus and ultimately people are going to hell because of the uncertainty that has been created by their use.
The Bible that glorifies Jesus the most in the English language is the King James Version.
The King Jesus Bible is a vision for an update to the King James Bible that a Millennial and his grandfather would be comfortable reading. Spelling and punctuation will be updated, but the words will be the same. The King Jesus Bible will not include footnotes or marginal notes; it will simply present the pure text and include supplemental study aids separated from the text.
Our purpose is to make the King James Bible more accessible, especially for those of the Millennial generation and younger.
The name "King Jesus" was chosen in light of our American heritage and because the acronym indicates that it is still the King James.
A battle cry for the American War for Independence was, "We have no king, but King Jesus!"
"We recognize no Sovereign but God and no King but Jesus."
